Abstract:
Considering the importance of crude oil fouling in shell and tube heat exchangers of preheat trains in refineries, whether from the viewpoint of fouling challenges in design, operation and maintenance, or advantages of fouling reduction such as saving time and cost, by introducing different aspects of this problem (key fouling precursors, mechanisms, and models) and also mitigation methods as a review, it has been tried in this article to establish that in order to prevail the complex problem of crude oil fouling and choose the most effective mitigation methods, an all-inclusive integrated study is needed.
